Information reaching Adom News indicates that four (4) people have been arrested in connection with the clash at Bonsaso near Tarkwa in the Western Region.
According to the Tarkwa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent George Andrew Kumah, the police were notified on Wednesday night that two (2) groups of illegal miners are fighting against each other at Bonsaso tollbooth.
The police quickly rushed to the scene and sadly, they found people who sustained various degrees of injuries whiles the others escaped.
The police rushed the injured victims to the hospital and unfortunately, one was pronounced dead on arrival whiles the other was transferred to Korle-Bu teaching hospital for further treatment due to the huge cut on his head.
The police intelligence led to the arrests of four (4) people and investigations are still underway to nab the rest.
